The true test of a window is not how it performs in light breezes and gentle rain, but rather how well it resists strong winds and heavy, wind-driven rain. And the most severe test is a monsoon. Some interesting observations were recently noted on the performance of...read more

Cleaning Louvre Windows Made Easy!
Cleaning windows. It’s not a very exciting topic. But no-one wants their view obscured by dirty windows so it’s a topic worth considering nonetheless. Cleaning the inside of a window is straightforward but, if you’re not on the ground floor, cleaning the outside of a window can be tricky, or even downright dangerous. Who wants to be hanging out of windows, stretching to clean the furthest corners?

Useable Outdoor Living Space with Breezway Louvres
Most people love being outdoors. We love outdoor sports. We love the beach. We love bushwalking. So it’s not surprising that we love our homes to include outdoor living spaces too. These outdoor living spaces always have some form of protection from the sun and therefore create welcoming, comfortable spaces where we can enjoy the glorious weather… except of course when it’s raining… or very windy… or just plain cold.
Truthfully, when the weather isn’t co-operating, our outdoor living areas can become un-useable spaces.
These days more and more people are living in apartment buildings with outdoor living spaces in the form of balconies. The relatively more compact floor space of apartments increases the value of the outdoor living space of balconies and therefore makes it even more frustrating when that outdoor living space is un-useable due to rain, wind or cold.
Altair Louvre Windows can be used to enclose these balconies. They seal tightly to provide protection from afternoon thunderstorms or windy days and create pleasant sunrooms on cool, sunny days.read more
